For people who suffer pain, especially when it’s chronic, the most beautiful day can seem dark and desolate.  Everything is a challenge and the pain can fill your whole perception, clouding everything you do with a gray veil.

But it doesn’t have to be like this.

Perception of pain can be changed.  Dr Ainslie Mears, author of “Relief without Drugs”, studied meditation for several years with Buddhist monks. He discovered that pain is a sensation that you can be aware of without it necessarily causing you suffering.  After mastering the art of meditation, Mears returned to Australia and experimented with his own pain until he was able to undergo major dental surgery with no anaesthetic and experienced no discomfort.  Today, with the aid of hypnotherapy, women even go through childbirth with minimal discomfort.

Not all of us have the luxury of retreating to a monastery and studying with Buddhist Monks.  But we can all learn some of the skills required to manage our pain. And you can get some immediate relief with the help of an experienced hypnotherapist.

Your Personal Trainer for Your Mind may start with hypnotherapy to guide you in overcoming the elements of stress and anxiety that are associated with pain.

You will learn how to change your perception of pain so that it becomes manageable and you can get on with living your life.  You will also learn how to use self-hypnosis to manage your pain on your own.  And if you choose to, you can enrol in our Mindfulness Meditation Program to further develop your own pain management skills.
